Two very auspicious festivals in April that were celebrated at the centre were Shri Ramanavami and Shri Hanuman Jayanti .At each of these Pujas before beginning the rituals Swamiji first explained the significance of the day and how to relate to it. This deeper understanding made the puja more relevant. Beginning the rituals Swami Avyayananda ji guided the yajamans and performed the Shodashopachara pujas Swamiji’s melodious voice and chanting added to the sublimity of the Puja. On Hanuman Jayanti the continuous chanting of Hanuman Chalisa while the Abhishek was performed was enchanting.
While discussing the events the secretary mentioned that some people felt that the Hanuman Jayanti Puja held at 7.30 am was a bit early. Swamiji explained that Hanumanji was born at daybreak hence the morning puja. Since Lord Rama was born at noon the puja was a little later in the day.
