CHINMAYA VANAPRASTHA SANSTHAN
The Vanprastha Sansthan meeting took place at the Chinmaya Mission on May 3, 2025, with around 30 members in attendance. The meeting began with heartfelt condolences for the martyrs of the tragic incident at Pahalgam, followed by the recitation of the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra for the injured.
The main topic of discussion was “Meditation,” introduced by Shri Khurana, who discussed the Ashtanga Yoga of Maharishi Patanjali. He covered the eight limbs: Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi. Shri Ram Avtar Gupta reiterated the role of meditation in attaining Self-realisation and Liberation. Participants were encouraged to develop and practice the four qualifications prescribed in Vedanta, which are necessary for a sadhak, along with Ashtanga Yoga. Smt. Khurana shared a poem that is close to her heart, which was appreciated by everyone
present. The meeting concluded with light refreshments and lively discussions among the members.
