Guru Purnima Celebration- 3rd July 2023
The pivotal moment in any seeker’s journey is the arrival of the Guru who removes the cataract of ignorance from his eyes by revealing to him the knowledge of Upanishads Only with the Guru’s help in the form of knowledge, encouragement, inspiration, grace, can the inexplicable spell of illusion be shattered. On July 3rd, Vyas Purnima day which is also observed as Guru Purnima devotees gathered at the beautifully decorated Guru Mandir to express their gratitude to the Guru Parampara. Swami Prakarshananda guided Shikha Bhushan the mukhya yajman who performed abhishek of Pujya Gurudev’s vigraha to the chanting of sacred Vaidika hymns. Swamiji himself then did the alankara with much love and meticulous attention to detail. This was followed by paduka puja with devotees chanting Pujya Gurudev’s ashtotttarashat namavali. Pujya Gurudev looked resplendent in his new robes. It was almost as though he was smiling benevolently and blessing everyone. The puja concluded with aarti and delicious prasad for all. The celebration continued in the evening with a samashti puja in Tapovan Hall where a beautifully bedecked, multi-tiered altar dedicated to the Guru Parampara awaited the devotees. After invoking their grace, Pujya Gurudev’s paduka puja was performed with great devotion by the yajmans guided by Swamiji. Mala Malhotra, Tanu and Aditya Puri along with their daughter, were the mukhya yajmans and Kalpana and Jagdish Vaswani, upa yajmans. In a packed Tapovan Hall each devotee was able to perform the puja at their tables which were equipped with the necessary items. The puja culminated with a beautiful aarti and devotees paying homage to the glorious
Guru Parampara. The celebrations ended with maha prasad for all.
